Tanat “Kem” Suttirak
Senior Bartender, Dry Wave Cocktail Studio

Kem, originally from Chiang Mai, began his journey in the culinary world with a degree in Food and Nutrition and the intention of becoming a chef. But once he entered the kitchen, he realized he wanted a challenge that offered broader knowledge and more creative freedom. His curiosity led him first to wines and beers, and finally to bartending – a field he found far more dynamic, demanding and inspiring. The craft’s blend of technique, precision and imagination drew him in immediately.

Now a professional bartender for seven years, Kem is especially passionate about classic cocktails and refined twists on timeless recipes. Since joining Dry Wave as part of its opening team in 2024, he has continued to develop his style, valuing structure, balance and the storytelling power of well-made drinks. To him, bartending is a profession of endless learning; even industry icons, he says, must constantly study and push themselves forward. Passion, he believes, is the foundation of a great bartender, fueling the motivation to evolve, embrace unpredictability and find joy in the craft every day.

Alongside his role at Dry Wave, Kem also travels extensively for guest shifts, sharing his knowledge while expanding his own. His international experiences have taken him to the Philippines, China, India, Vietnam and Spain.
